Tips for immune support against viruses
Pro tip: vegeterian diet interferes with zinc intake, make sure to compensate.
We asked our physician Marjo Valonen, how she protects herself from Corona virus and other infections:
- I make sure I get enough vitamins, in particular vitamin D and C. Vitamin D is easily too low, especially in wintertime and I take vitamin D 100 µg per day as a supplement and vitamin C at least 1000 mg twice a day
- I also take zinc and selenium because they have a crucial role in our immune system
- By eating an abundance of berries daily
- I eat a lot of good fats like olive oil and fish oil
- Avoid eating high amounts of sugars is essential because it can lower your immune response by 50%
- Avoid artificial sweeteners. I rather quench my thirst for sweets by eating berries or by adding some stevia extract into the foods or drinks
My go to immune support that I am taking:
· Takuna extract (Cecropia strigosa) from Nutramedix 30 drops twice a day
· Baikal Skullcap extract (Scutellaria baicalensis) from Nordicure 20 drops twice a day
· Immoboost 1 capsule every morning (contains patented 1,3/1,6 beta-glucan, vitamin C, zinc and selenium)
I also take care of a good microbial balance in the gut (diet, kombucha, probiotics when needed). I actually check my gut’s health yearly with the Microbiome-test, so that I can address negative changes right away.
The best way to protect yourself from all viral infections is to support your own immune system
